The United Sates Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) National Analytical Radiation Environmental Laboratory (NAREL) located in Montgomery, Alabama is seeking a GS-13 Physical Scientist to work as a chemist in NAREL’s radiochemistry labs. Summary
This position is in the Office of Air and Radiation, Office of Radiation and Indoor Air, National Analytical Radiation Environmental Laboratory, Center for Environmental Radioanalytical Laboratory Science. About OAR.
This is an office-centered position--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis. Partial work-from-home flexibilities may be authorized.
Duties
-Serve as a technical expert in the fields of radioanalytical chemistry and physical science at EPA's National Analytical Radiation Environmental Laboratory (NAREL);
-Produce, collect, and analyze data in support of the NAREL Quality Assurance/Quality Control Program;
-Serve as a liaison with officials from various state, local, and federal agencies to exchange information and guidance on radioanalytical methodologies;
-Serve as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) and/or a Government Purchase Card Holder as assigned by supervisor.
You will spend less than 25% of your work time on contracts, grants/cooperative agreements, and/or interagency agreements.
